Hvar to Dubrovnik

If you are traveling from Hvar to Dubrovnik or Dubrovnik to Hvar please find bellow a couple of useful travel tips.
Unfortunately there are no regular catamaran or ferry lines that go directly between these two most popular Croatian destinations.
So, basically you have 4 options:

1. Taking the ferry line that goes twice a week from Stari Grad (13km from Hvar town). Here is the schedule:
From Stari Grad to Dubrovnik
(valid from June 2nd – September 27th)
Tuesday Saturday
ferry (coastal line) 09:00 08:15
arrival in Dubrovnik 16:15 14:30

From Dubrovnik to Stari Grad (Hvar Island)
(valid from June 2nd – September 27th)
Thursday, Sunday
ferry (coastal line) 10:00
arrival in Stari Grad 16:30

2. Going by car to the other side of Hvar island (to town Sucuraj) and taking the ferry to Drvenik, a 20-minute trip. Then you have to drive to Dubrovnik for aprox. 2 hours.

3. Going to Split either by catamaran or by ferry. From Split there are regular bus lines to Dubrovnik, approximately 4 hours trip. Also you have variaty of rent a car companies which you can use.

4. The easiest and the most expensive way would be to rent a fast boat that can take you directly from Hvar to Dubrovnik (or Dubrovnik to Hvar). More information on www.blue-yachts.com
